- Signing up for SIRA
Before setting up any CCTV cameras in Dubai, it's essential for the installation company to possess a SIRA license. This requirement helps minimize the risk of faulty installations and data security issues by ensuring that only qualified professionals are involved in the design, installation, and upkeep of the systems.
- Document Submission
Installers send SIRA detailed site plans, equipment specs, and data-flow diagrams. After reviewing these documents, SIRA grants conditional approval. However, work cannot commence until the official go-ahead is received from the relevant authorities.
- Final Examination and Approval
After the installation is complete, SIRA conducts an on-site check to ensure a few key things:
The cameras are positioned correctly and cover the intended areas.
The equipment matches the approved models.
There are adequate data security protocols, including encryption and access controls, in effect.
Once everything passes inspection, SIRA provides a Certificate of Compliance. This certificate is typically necessary for building handover and obtaining commercial licenses.
